Sand cleaning maintains hygiene and cleanliness in play sand, on beach volleyball courts and in golf pits

Sand areas in sports facilities, recreational amenities and playgrounds are permanently exposed to environmental impacts, soiling through users and animals, as well as plant growth. The operators are required to maintain the sand areas in a hygienic, clean condition, which minimises the risk of injury (e.g. through sharp objects) or infection through contamination of any kind. Compared to the previously common practice of exchanging the sand, sand cleaning, e.g. turning, loosening and filtration of the existing sand, has many advantages.

Sand cleaning in almost any corner

With our compact and agile RO-FLEX sand cleaning machines we can reach almost any corner of the sand area to be cleaned. Even moderate inclines aren’t a problem. Any refuse such as broken glass, bottle caps, tins, animal faeces, roots and much more is collected and transported into the waste container. This process also ensures that smaller or large organic contaminants are not reintroduced into the existing sand.

The sand is treated to a depth of up to 300 mm, which means it also benefits from being loosened up and aerated sufficiently. 

The aeration enables the growth of beneficial bacteria, which help to quickly degrade any contaminants in the sand. Thus, a healthy biological balance is re-established in the cleaned sand.
